I haven't posted in a few days. I haven't watched any new movies. I am currently catching up on Dexter and Game of Thrones...
Have a movie you want me to review? Let me hear it! (Because I have SO many readers!)

Black Swan
I saw this movie a few years ago, but I felt like posting again so I figured I would do this one.
It's a good one.
Black Swan (2010) Rated R
Directed by Darren Aronofsky
Starring: Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Vincent Cassel
Budget: $13M
Here is a link to the story line on IMDB.
It was given 8.1 out of 10 stars.
If I had to describe this movie in one word it would be: Disturbing. Two words: Wonderfully Disturbing.
I saw this movie with my BFF and I don't know that I would have gone to see it if it wasn't for her. I hadn't
heard anything about it, and if I knew how disturbing it was, I probably would not have wanted to watch it.
But I am so glad I did. It's a really good movie. The advice I give to people before they watch it though, don't
want it with someone you're not totally comfortable with. There were a few scenes that were a bit... awkward
... sexual... maybe I'm just a prude about that kind of thing. LOL. Probably that. But I love this movie.
So Nina, Portman, is a prima ballerina. Her mom was a dancer as well and wants her daughter to do what she
couldn't, which is succeed. Natalie actually had to lose a good deal of weight for this role, which you wouldn't
think she would need to, but she did. She lost something like 20 pounds. And actually Mila lost 20 pounds
also.
Anyway. So Nina is trying to get the part of the Swan in Swan Lake. Normally this role is danced by two
different dancers. But in this case the director wants to use only one. Nina is perfect for the white swan, but
she doesn't have the passion to dance the black swan.
Enter Lily (Kunis). Who is gorgeous and graceful and full of passion. I think that Nina develops a girl crush on
Lily as soon as she walks in. And who could blame her? Right? But Nina is also terrified that Lily is exactly
what the director is looking for.
Throughout the movie Lily helps Nina to get in touch with her... dark side.
It's a movie full of suspense, even though it's a ballet movie. I have only watched it two times since getting it on
DVD but it's a must have for DVD collectors like myself.
It was given 8.1 stars, but I would give it more like... 9 I think. I don't have some kind of system for my stars
though. Maybe I should get on that.
Hope everyone has a great day! Hope you enjoy the movie! And coming soon, the list of my DVD stock! :)
It's a good one.

Hanna
Last night we watched Hanna.
2011 Starring Saoirse Ronan as Hanna and Eric Bana as Erik Heller. Also Cate Blanchett as Marissa Wiegler (for some reason her accent sounded super strange coming out of her mouth.)
Rated PG-13
Budget: $30M .... that's a lot of money!!
So, the synopsis given on IMDB is:
"A 16-year-old who was raised by her father to be the perfect assassin is dispatched on a mission across Europe, tracked by a ruthless intelligence agent and her operatives."
Also, "Hanna (Ronan) is a teenage girl. Uniquely, she has the strength, the stamina, and the smarts of a soldier; these come from being raised by her father (Bana), an ex-CIA man, in the wilds of Finland. Living a life unlike any other teenager, her upbringing and training have been one and the same, all geared to making her the perfect assassin. The turning point in her adolescence is a sharp one; sent into the world by her father on a mission, Hanna journeys stealthily across Europe while eluding agents dispatched after her by a ruthless intelligence operative with secrets of her own (Blanchett). As she nears her ultimate target, Hanna faces startling revelations about her existence and unexpected questions about her humanity. Written by Focus Features"
It's given 6.9 out of 10 stars. Now, keep in mind, there are some real people votes in there too.
So, what do I think? Out of 10 stars I think I would give it 8.
I thought it was really good, filled with lots of action. And Saoirse is a gorgeous girl and wonderful to watch. The reason I give it an 8, it's hard to follow in the beginning. I wasn't quite sure what was going on. Who was doing what for what reasons. But I think it's intentional. To keep you guessing. The plot does reveal its self as it goes. It seemed really long but it was only 111 minutes. Although, as I was watching I was thinking that it was one of those movies where you didn't really mind that it seemed long. Know what I mean? I didn't want it to end really.
I really liked the fact that Hanna is one of those people who doesn't consider how other people feel too much. You know when you're watching a movie and the good guy is running from the bad guys and one of their friends gets in trouble and the good guy goes back to save them and you keep telling them to just go? Well, Hanna doesn't have that problem. Which... is a problem, but I don't want to give away too much if you haven't seen the movie.
It's a pretty violent movie, if I had to rate the violence of it I would say it was a 7 out of 10. Not as bad as some I have seen, but I certainly wouldn't let my 4 year old watch it. But now that I think about it, there wasn't a whole lot of profanity. Which is kinda cool. Lots of killing, but not a lot of cussing. Isn't that refreshing. Of course, it is PG-13. I was kind of shocked when I saw that after seeing the movie. With all the violence.
Anyway. I thought it was well written and thought out. I loved to watch Hanna learn about human emotions and interactions that she just didn't know about.
**SPOILER ALERT The fact that you don't find out WHY she doesn't know all this stuff, that she was pretty much an engineered baby makes it all the more interesting. And scary. how long do you think it will be before we have little Hannas running around? I was glad she found out why she was the way she was before her "father" was killed. But sad that she didn't have a chance to make up with him before he died.
**END SPOILER
Also, I loved the fact that the first line and the last line of the movie was the same.
If you like action movies, I would definitely recommend this one. I would probably tell my mom not to watch it, as she doesn't like to watch all the violence these days. I love to watch something with a strong female kicking butt and taking charge, and Hanna absolutely does this.
Thanks for reading!! I hope you enjoy the movie!!

Hello!
Hi! My name is Danielle. I am a mother of two who has a love for movies. I was watching a movie last night and while I was think about what I thought of it, the idea came to me. Shouldn't I bless everyone with my thoughts about all the movies I watch?? Who wouldn't want to climb inside my head and know what I thought about the movie? Sure, there are review sites that you can look at, things like Rotten Tomatoes and So and So gives two thumbs up. But what about what I think? I have seen some bad reviews for movies that I have loved. For movies that most of the people I know have loved. So, I think I owe it to the world... or the two people who may stumble across this blog, to share what an every day mom thinks about movies. I like most kinds, comedy, black comedy, suspense, romance. I don't watch horror movies any more though. They are too well made these days LOL. I like kid movies, stupid movies... in fact, my favorite movie is Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Do you know the budget for that film was only 365k or something? And the main players had like 100 roles a piece. But I love that movie. Probably for the cornyness and the low budget.
So, the whole idea of this blog, I will give my review and maybe throw some interesting facts out there as well. I hope you enjoy it!!
